The app

Pickup runs on your Mac. When you share files, it shows a QR code. The phone that scans it loads a small web page directly from your Mac and receives the files directly from your Mac, over your local network.

This website

Hosting and download

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, and the app is downloaded from GitHub Releases. Both are services of GitHub, Inc., USA. When you open a page or download the app, also with the install command, your browser or the Terminal sends the usual request data to GitHub's servers, including your IP address. GitHub keeps this data in server logs to run and protect the service. I have no access to these logs. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in delivering the website and the app reliably (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). For details, see GitHub's privacy statement.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. Write me an e-mail for this. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
